Summary

The management of student behaviour is a staff, parent and student concern. Its success is based upon the recognition of the dignity and worth of all individuals.

Behaviour Management Policy

Students’ roles / responsibility:

  • Ensure that their behaviour is not disruptive to the learning of others.
  • Ensure that the school environment is kept neat, tidy and secure.
  • Ensure that they are punctual, polite, prepared and display a positive manner
  • Behave in a way that protects the safety and well being of others.

Staff roles / responsibilities:

  • Teachers should negotiate with students incentives for encouraging a positive classroom environment, eg. Group/Individual Points, Raffle Tickets, Marble Jar, Snakes and Ladders.
  • Discuss / display whole school and classroom rules and the consequences of their infringement.
  • Staff should be fair and consistent in application of behaviour management.
  • Use initiatives to encourage appropriate student behaviour. These incentives include. Faction Points, Merit Awards, Reward Day’s, Principal’s Awards.
  • Behaviour management matters should be communicated clearly to parents in an appropriate and timely manner.

Parents’ roles / responsibilities:

  • Communicate with the school Support the school in its enforcement of behaviour management.
  • Support the school in its enforcement of behaviour management.
